04 / LACQUER FINISHING

Lacquering

The scope and finish are agreed before production starts.

01Surfaces

From a raw component
to a finished coating.

We select the technology for the substrate, component shape and desired result. Before starting a batch, we verify the documentation and the condition of supplied components.

01

MDF and routed fronts

We lacquer flat surfaces, edges and routed details after assessing the geometry and preparation of each component.

  • plain and routed fronts
  • fitted-furniture components
  • short runs and production batches
02

Solid wood and veneer

We match a transparent or opaque finishing system to the wood species, grain and intended use.

  • clear coatings
  • staining and oiling
  • opaque colour finishes
03

Custom components

Before quoting, we assess mouldings, panels, blanks and custom-contour components for hanging, application and drying requirements.

  • three-dimensional details
  • CNC-machined components
  • scope agreed with a technologist
Range of finishes

RAL and NCS colours, opaque and clear coatings, matt, semi-matt and high gloss. Staining and oiling are specified individually for each material.

02Finish types

Matt, semi-matt
or high gloss?

Different sheen levels change how the same colour is perceived. Compare the surface character and confirm the result on a physical sample before production.

Semi-matt

A versatile balance between colour depth and a subtle reflection. The most common starting point for selecting a sample.

soft reflection
Applications
kitchens, furniture, contract runs
03Technical process

Every layer
has a purpose.

A durable result begins before the lacquer is applied. The process therefore includes substrate assessment, preparation, primer layers, finishing and inspection after curing.

01

Component assessment

We inspect the substrate, geometry, edges and desired result. We agree the colour, sheen and hanging method.

02

Preparation

We sand and clean the surface, preparing it to receive the primer layers.

03

Primer and sanding

We build an even base and sand between layers according to the selected system.

04

Colour and finish

We apply the agreed layers under the conditions required for even coverage and sheen.

05

Inspection and packaging

After curing, we inspect the surface, assemble the order and protect the components for transport.

Customer-supplied components. Before requesting a quote, describe the material, previous coatings and preparation method. The condition of the substrate may affect the work required.

04 / COLOUR

A colour chart sets the direction. A sample confirms the result.

RAL and NCS references help organise colour selection, but a screen is not a reliable colour chart. For demanding projects, we recommend approving a physical sample on the intended or a similar substrate.

The final appearance of the coating depends on:

  1. 01substrate type
  2. 02surface preparation
  3. 03lighting and surroundings
  4. 04sheen level
  5. 05material and coating-system batch
Colours shown on this website are illustrative. Sample, reference and acceptance conditions are agreed before production begins.
05Quality control

Surface inspection
before packaging.

Inspection covers more than colour. We also check preparation, coating uniformity, edges, batch completeness and how the components are protected.

Substrate inspection

Assessment of cleanliness, damage, edges and preparation before the first layer.

Coating inspection

Verification of uniformity, surface continuity and the result under the agreed lighting.

Colour reference

Comparison against the agreed chart or approved sample, if it formed part of the order.

Batch packaging

Surface separation, corner protection and labelling of components for collection or transport.

Technical arrangements

For each order, the technologist confirms the coating-system brands, acceptance tolerances, curing time and scope of testing.

07FAQ

Questions about
lacquer finishing.

The key points to agree before submitting components for quotation and production.

01How is the expected lacquering result agreed?

The substrate, colour and expected finish standard are agreed before production.
